Greetings,

When I was in Spain, I was told it was a country that worshiped the
goddess via Mary. BUT, I said she was an incomplete woman: sugar and
spice, and everything nice. A real Goddess (archetype) would be a
complete woman with a full range of attributes, not an insipid
creature designed and created by a bunch of men wearing dresses.

Hi Marsha,
The situation is a little different in South America because the African
slaves hid their own religion beneath Spanish Catholicism. The virgin becomes a
Saint of Saints with a full set of attributes i should have thought.
Also, each saint hides an African based rhythm, and rhythm is central to
South American culture; it is how people define themselves as individuals and as
a people.
The people become the saints when they submit to the rhythm and allow
themselves to be taken over - your identity belongs to that rhythm by which you are
most easily transported.
Note: Not the other way around! You belong to the rhythm - the rhythm has
you.
I think the moq would tweak this and suggest this process to be a matter of
DQ influencing sq patterns and not the result of saints from 'elsewhere'
getting in on the act.
Love,
Mark
