Sure. I think, however, this hinges on whether or not one accepts the static
patterns as "sign-posts", or analogies, or whether or not one believes "this is
literal Truth". Christian mystic experience, notably in the Gnostic tradition,
has been as great a boon to some as Zen and Native American mysticism. Like
Art, mystic experience can open one's "eyes and heart" to Quality, or the
Buddha, or the Tao. The danger is those who wield the static patterns as a
weapon. Sadly, there are few of the former and armies of the latter.
