That is not the prevailing view of science. Both science and religion begin
with the unproven assumption that reality exists independent of humans.
Which is an assumption Pirsig does not make. Why do you make that
assumption?

That's the prevailing view of science. Others disagree, positing
consciousness
both immanent and transcendent. Evidence? Experience reported by mystics,
confirmed throughout the ages by those who follow mystic practices. Pirsig
posits something similar: immanent and transcendent Quality from evidence
presented in Lila, the SODV paper and other writings of Mr. Pirsig. So
while you may be right, you could be wrong.
