Exactly. Which is why I don't speak in levels and patterns.

Since everything we experience is differentiated anyway, why confound our
understanding of existence in this arbitrary fashion? I think Pirsig had to
make Intellect -- what most of us call "mind" and Quality -- which roughly
translates to "desire" (as the author uses it) part of the objective world
so that he could eliminate "subject". To listen to the people here, this
was nothing short of a miracle! He's overcome duality! Nothing like it had
been theorized since Descartes.

But, when you put LILA down, and think about it, there is no Intellect or
Mind out there waiting to be tapped for enlightenment. All knowledge and
intelligence is subjective, and the Value we sense is the reciprocal mode of
'negation/affirmation' by which the S/O dichotomy comes and goes. My
paradigm is: Being is negated; Essence is affirmed. And, as Bo stated, the
difference between them is "the value of the S/O divide."

I'll glad we're on "the same page", and I'll be interested to see your
"language and thought" concept when you've worked it out.

Thanks, Ron
Ham
