[MD] New paper from David Buchanan

In true academic style, I suppose it would be only appropriate at this 
juncture if I added that I've written something of a response to the paper 
(which I recently referenced in a related manner): "Dewey, Pirsig, Rorty, or 
How I Convinced an Entire Generation of Pirsigians that Rorty is the Devil: 
An Ode to David Buchanan"

It's not exactly a response insofar as I don't actually talk about the paper 
at all because David hadn't written it yet.  The reply was culled from a 
conversation (ya' know, e-mail style) David and I had about the topic of his 
paper while he was preparing to write it, so it contains the same sort of 
issues.  David's paper works as a kind of implicit continuation of our 
long-standing dialogues (and as such, it functions as a rebuke to my Rortyan 
ways) and mine functions in the same way.

But I've since read David's paper, which he kindly passed along my way, and 
I think its worth reading, particularly if you are looking for more 
highlight thrown on the connection Pirsig draws between himself and James, 
but certainly for those who enjoy David's writing and are looking for a 
further way into his philosophical viewpoint.
