SA, and Arlo, Horse,
It's not a matter of not-liking Platt or "saving us" from his bogus
arguments - "we" can all look after ourselves in an argument. And I do
appreciate the contradiction of "attacking" Platt whilst calling for
cooperative progress ... and yes we know he is intentionally the
"master-baiter" .... etc .. etc ... I do go for long periods simply
ignoring him. Anyway ...
If we want MoQ to progress, (and that's a significant if, I
appreciate) we have to attract and egnage new participants. As Arlo
points out the problem with Platt's contributions, apart from being
crap (but hey it's a free forum) is that they skew the weight of
discussion into adversarial dogmas and party-political prejudices -
long before we get to a point where Arlo (or I or anyone else) decides
to take Platt's dishonesty on directly. It drives people away from
wothwhile debate and discussion.
(As for whether the natural evolution of MoQ is embodied in these
interactions on MoQDiscuss - we could usefully debate, but you know my
view is that evolution is not all adversarial .... for another time.)
Regards
Ian
