Everybody,

     I started this thread after reading Maxwell's
Intellectual Revolution paper, and Pirsig's
sailboating.  Both discuss intellectual's role in
helping society.  I also read the abstract to Watt's
thesis, and his mentioning of compassion in the MoQ. 
The intellect is to help the social.  A static latch
is made whether we like it or not.  Now, how we define
the intellectuals role in helping society, in other
words, what do we do?  That's all I'm asking from each
person.  What do they do to help society?  This is the
moral role of the MoQ, and I would say our natural
duty, unless blowing things up is creative for you.
