When an analysis of our evolutionary past seems to
offer some greater understanding of how we
live in modern societies I for one welcome it.
It also seems to offer some hope we can live
in ways that are less likely to result in violence.

I'm not seeing many rays of sunshine there. 

I don't see a whole lot in the past that can guide us into the future. We
are recreating the environment around us into something that nothing on the
planet has any experience with.

It is almost as though we are hell bent on creating a self inflicted bout of
punctuated equilibrium.
