I have some problems with Darwinian evolution because it attributes
change to chance mutations and changes in the the environment. The
probabilities of dice-throwing resulting in even the complexity of a
cell are astronomical. Also, while watching a show about penguins last
night I was struck by how efficient their "wings" were uses as flippers
underwater, leading me to wonder if maybe birds didn't evolve from fish.
I've also wondered why monkeys who jump from tree branch to tree branch
high in the forest canopy didn't evolve wings. The stories evolutionists
tell us, like dinosaurs sprouting feathers to help them run, are just as
speculative and fanciful.

Anyway, DQ goes a couple of steps beyond evolution in attributing growth
not only to exterior surfaces like skin and bones, but of interior
awareness and consciouness, leading to the evolution of the social,
intellectual and artistic levels of which Darwin hadn't a clue. If you
listen to the Darwinists, the highest level on the tree of life is
occupied by the walrus.

It helps a great deal, thanks. You do see evolution, you just do not
subscribe to what you feel is a limited
concept of it (ie. Darwinist). but am I correct in assuming that you do
go along with the idea of DQ equating
with evolution (in the terms you use for the meaning of evolution in the
DQ sense).Because this is where
I see emergence paralelling Pirsig.
