[MD] Free Speech? What next?

Hi Marsha,
I think its a complex decision (5 years in the making in the Supreme court).
Free speech we uphold, but it does not mean anything goes anywhere -
does it ? In the version of the story I saw the "defendant" was pretty
clear it was a cynical opportunistic publicity stunt on their part,
with no message relative to the olympic event gate-crashed.
As a student there would have been plenty of other opportunties to
make that same "free speech" which would not have been impeded by the
law.
On balance I suspect the court got it right - but as I say I only know
what I read in the recent news reports - not a story I was
particularly aware of the details in 2002.
