[MD] The False Mirror

Kevin,

Yes, good point. I am reminded in ZMM when Pirsig asks the question, where
does one make the first cut, noting that when you do it changes everything
when you do. Why then make the first cut? Well as Pirsig writes, "It
interesting." You see Pirsig's struggle with the same issue in LILA. When
you make the cut you find a new way to define or reflect on reality. MOQ is
probably the best cut because it has the capacity to reflect everything that
is in the mirror and a few things that may not be. The SOL mirror has some
serious limitations, however as mirrors go it really has served us well for
the past 2500 year or so. Yet with it's limitations as point out so well by
Pirsig in both ZMM and LILA it was time for a better mirror. Pirsig gave us
MOQ which is one heck of a mirror for us to see ourselves and understand
what we see.

Kevin:
Is The False Mirror false because the eye in the mirror is a false eye; only
a reflection of a real eye?

And is the Metaphysics of Reality not complete because the reality it
explains is only a reflection of Reality?

Aren't the reflections in all mirrors and the explanations in all
metaphysics false?

Mati: Are they false? No because looking into the mirror is still an
experience that hasn't escaped reality. :-)

Take care,
Mati
