Thanks for the clarification.  In your earlier post,

     whatever. The point is, it is at odds with (most) current social value, and so

     perspective. But to the individual doing it, it must feel "right" in some way
     or they wouldn't do it."
 
I thought you were saying the desire for betterness that motivates individuals
is the same "betterness" that is understood by communities and societies.
 
I think I see what you mean about DQ not operating only at the intellectual
level.  But it sounds too relativistic, i.e., what's better for the individual may not
be better for his or her community and vice versa.  The bruho was a perfect
analogy.  Thanks for the reminder.
 
At some point, after I collect my thoughts well enough to engage others in a
meaningful way, I'd like to discuss how the Metaphysics of Quality explains
individual responsibility to community.
