 [Case to Platt]
Are you trying to make the point that being a non-criminal is not an
indicator of morality either?

[Arlo]
I'm not sure *I* understand the point. Somehow it went from who should or
should not receive health care, to some people are better than others, to
Galileo is more moral than a street criminal... It would appear the
"MOQistocracy" doles out health care on the basis of wealth. Poor people
with cancer? Toss 'em into the gutter. They have no value anyways.

[Case]
Sorry, I was just butting in for no good reason. Wealth is a much better
measure of worth. At least you have something to count. Right?

Just a note on the alleged virtue of the good old American system of health
care, where you can supposedly get such marvelously prompt care. I was
talking to a friend today who has to get regular kidney dialysis. He has a
port installed for his dialysis session but it malfunctioned so he has to
get a new one. He has been off of work for more than three weeks waiting to
see his specialist and will not be able to get an appointment for another
three weeks.

Another friend found out his red blood cell count was something like 10
times normal and it took more than three months to get the tests to see what
was causing it. This even given the fact that excessive red cells can result
in clotting which leads to stroke or heart attack.

It is not as though the free market system is all that super duper.
