True, but let's not confuse predictability with quality of explanation
and understanding. A lot of well understood phenomena are highly
unpredictable. Like the hand you get dealt in poker for example.
Probabilities are part of reality.

Come on, Ian you know I have never made such confusion. Determinism does not
imply predictability. Truth is probabilistic. The probability of being dealt
a royal flush is well known. As is any other combination of cards in the
game of poker. This is precisely what makes the game appealing.
