Ham, Peter, Bo, et al ... a couple of observations.
Ham you said "If there is no sensibility, no cognizant awareness,
there is no empirical reality." Surey that is a literal translation of
Descartes' "cogito ergo sum" ? Just sayin'...
Anyway
Moslems and Christians ? Pepsi and Coke ? (Tommy Womack)
I agree with Peter and Ham, the point about Muslim fundamentalism is
really about religious fundamentalism of any flavour. And I'd add to
Ham's historical point that both Muslim and Christian philosophers
have made great contributions - don't forget Averoes (Bin Rushd) and
Avicennes, and all those Muslim scholars that brought Plato, Aristotle
and others to the west before the enightenment. Canons or not, it
hasn't prevented people with brains and courage from thinking.
