Hi Marsha

Tao:
The Tao that can be told of
Is not the Absolute Tao;

MOQ:
The quality that can be told of
Is not Dynamic Quality.

Tao:
The Names that can be given
Are not Absolute Names.

MOQ:
Static quality patterns of value defined
Are not Dynamic Quality.

Tao:
The Nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth;
The Named is the Mother of All Things.

MOQ:
Dynamic Quality is the origin of Heaven and Earth
Static quality is the Mother of All Things.

Dan:
I think everything evolves and fades away. Everything is conditional. So yes, I would say yes.

Dan:
Become better.

Dan:
I would respectfully suggest it is a matter of opinion as to what is the best.

Dan:
Why thank you Marsha! That is very kind of you. I find that while I enjoy reading the posts here, often times I have little or nothing to say -- so it seems better to simply be quiet. I tend to write a great deal and occasionally something surfaces that seems worth sharing.

Dan:
The dictionary seems to offer good definitions.

Dan:
I guess we all leave something of value here... our thoughts.

>Marsha:

Dan:
Perhaps.

>Marsha:

Dan:
The world is full of meaning. Maybe the problem occurs when we try to find meaning in the meaning. This zen story comes to mind:

A cat who lived at a monastary developed the annoying habit of jumping upon the head roshi's lap each time he sat down to meditate. Aggravated, one day he told a monk, "Tie up that pesky cat so we can meditate in peace!" The monk did as he was told and each time before the meditation took place, the monk dutifully tied up the cat.

Years later when the cat died the monastary acquired another cat to tie up while the meditation was going on. Even after the old head roshi himself passed away, the monks continued the practice of tying up the cat so they could better meditate. Centuries later, many learned theses were written on the value of tying up a cat prior to meditation.

Thanks again,

Dan
