I couldn't agree more I find it puzzling that anyone would think that these
things are abandoned in the pursuit of science. This must be some hold over
from the Newtonian heyday of determinism. Do you really think that people
regard science as cold and soulless? Who are these people?

No problem but I would also want to retain my attachment to art,
poetry, drama, music and philosophy. My point is that imagination
is key to all these and science too. No imagination, no metaphor, no
fiction,
would mean no science.
