SA: I agree, and add, that $ is ruling the people in
cooperation with or is a part of the giant. Thus, $
may not be another entity, but an arm of the giant
itself, which is out of hand. That's the problem - it
is "out of hand". Yet, somebody that will try to
control too much is a dictator, and somebody that does
nothing let's the giant rule over the people's lives.
As you point out here, $ doesn't know people, and it
is people who let $ rule the show. It also may have
to do with thinking more and more knowledge, thus, a
consumer mentality of digesting more and more
knowledge will solve the problem. This is kin of the
profit margin drive, to gain and collect more and more
profit - more, more, more. The U.S. also wants more
and more food. The U.S. ingest tons of food and thus,
the U.S. is an overweight culture in general.
Consumer, consume, consume, keeps popping up across
the board in many categories. I would say to
counterweigh the need for more and more knowledge is
to apply more and more, thus, making knowledge wisdom.
So, knowledge doesn't become overweight with useless,
non-applicable needs. This doesn't mean that no
knowledge can be leisure knowledge which is the kind
of knowledge that seems to have no application. It's
when too much knowledge can't or doesn't have an
expression in application. I say "can't" for
knowledge that seems useless can turn into an
innovation. "Doesn't" is knowledge that sits around
gathering dust and is more leisure, again, this kind
of knowledge is fun and may also in and of itself
allow for reflection where something dynamic may
happen, not with the existing "doesn't" knowledge, but
this knowledge in leisure may allow one to step back
and notice something in a wider picture. It is the
application of knowledge where the problem exists.
Everybody has great ideas, but can these great ideas
become expressed in application somewhere?

SA: Yes. This is what I was also pointing out. The
people, what about the people? The numbers may show
the business is churning a profit, but is Bill's
children ok with Bill and his wife both working and
not seeing each other that much? Does the employer
care? I mean really care, not the "Hello, how are you
doing?" and then you tell them how your really doing,
and then they smile and say it will get better or try
to show concern, but can they really do anything about
it other than add more work and give you more hours of
work to do, etc...?

SA: Yes, we try, we really do try. The focus though
in the U.S. mainstream culture is people are to
contribute to the profit margin, all the way to the
U.S. president. People work all kinds of odd hours,
both husband and wife have to work to make ends meet
(for the most part in the U.S.). I work forty hours a
week, and so does my wife, but then she needed to
coach volleyball for some months currently to fix the
car. Tired of putting 'stuff' on the credit card,
such as gas and food, you know necessities. Should I
get rid of the internet to make room for these pop-up,
need fixing expenses, such as when the computer
stopped working and I went and had it fixed? Maybe,
but I do like this forum. This is pretty much an
enhancement on the quality my life via the sharing of
intellectual patterns on this forum. I do learn
something here, pretty much everyday. I become aware
of issues, that I wouldn't have otherwise. Anyways...
