I wish you would stuff this government-union crap. I live in right to work
state and unions have zero impact here.
[Arlo]
It's schtick. But yeah, it gets old. Its the whole "government is the
problem"
bullshit you pointed to way back.
Funny thing is, I wasn't even making a point per se about funding. The
Finnish
and South Korean schools make a point about funding because it reflects
their values as a culture. They VALUE public education. That, for me, is the
key difference. Or even, they VALUE education. We pay lip service to it, but
they LIVE it.
[Krimel]
Exactly, Value is not just a metaphysical notion it has concrete
manifestations. It is a serious social ill when all Value is reduced to
dollar and other kinds of Value are thus degraded.
[Arlo]
However, my point stands. All these schools are among the best in the world.
And they are public. If I am wrong, and its not about community and familial
and social value of education, then why?
You would think those who claim to want the best education for all would be
interested in how and why all these other public schools are beating even
many of our private schools in testing.
[Krimel]
As you know some are only interested in simplistic sloganeering and puffing
up their preconceptions.
[Arlo]
(That's rhetorical to you, Komrade Krimel, since we are a multiplicity
collective standing against individual freedoms.)
[Krimel]
Resistance is futile. I must really hurt some to see the rise of the EU
which no doubt has problems but were there are plenty of examples of
socialism as a viable alternative to the cowboy culture.
