I appreciate the compliment, Ham, but you have the knack of getting to
the root of today's political problems with a few succinct words, as in
your insights here.
[Krimel]
So you are actually stating, unequivocally, that you support Ham's blatantly
racist rhetoric?
[Platt]
Yes. America is now on a downward slide back to tribalism. It may be that
Pirsig has also seen the trend, prompting him to write the following:

So you deplore "tribalism" but endorse a man whose fundamental insight arose
from a tribal ritual? I would say Pirsig's endorsement of tribalism led him
to write Lila which as you well know started out as a book on Indians. One
of his central themes is that the American spirit has been heavily
influenced by "tribes" of Native Americans.
[Platt]
I believe Pirsig pays greater respect to individualism than you believe and
have made the case in a number of previous posts. But, your concise
analysis of the present political situation is dead on. Thanks.
[Krimel]
I won't dignify your slanderous reading of Pirsig with a comment but this
growing insight into the foul backwaters of your thinking is sickening.
