You know what's going to happen next. Platt will
argue Pirsig against Pirsig. Sounds a bit schizo or
split-personality. Where I used to work their was
this male teen that used to go into the Time Out Area
on his own or by a staff asking him or physically
taking him and he would have conversation with
himself, well, in the mental world he was talking with
another person having debates with him, arguing, and
talking himself out of doing things to others, such as
punching them, etc... He was pretty screwed up. I
walked in the residential unit one night and heard
this person going back and forth in a conversation and
I asked the staff who was in the TO area with the
resident. They said it was only the resident. He did
this on an almost daily routine. I've heard about it
and read about it, but that was the first I actually
was near somebody that experienced such a... split
experience.
