SA:  Arlo, I don't.  I look at this equation and know
what it means by the numbers, not the words.  I could
say the words in my head as I read this, but I
wouldn't get too restricted with concrete words. 
Pictures are worth a thousand words and convey much
meaning, but I don't spell out pictures, fully, using
words alone.  
       I would stick with semiotic.  It conveys the
meaning better.
