SA, Ron, Krim, Mati, ...

SA said "that's a lame excuse"

Krim said "the problem is we are not going to find agreement"

Ron said "I tend to agree"

I say ... surely this would be the cop out ?

I tend to agree that the history of debate is failure to find
agreement, but sure the point is (the two points are) .... to move
understanding closer to agreement, and that we believe Pirsig's MoQ
provides means of getting closer to such understanding.

Otherwise what is the point of debate here ?

Ron:
Precisely Ian, what is the point of debate,
which is argument dialectically to find a universal.
The agreement is the description of experience
which you can connect to your own.

this tells us little about experience and much about
how we relate and CAN relate similarly to it.

which is the point..

the truth is only known to you.
It's about developing that within yourself
not a concrete definition that is
universally agreed upon.
