I recently heard this stand-up comic's definition of Pennsylvania "Philadelphia
at one end, Pittsburgh at the other & Alabama in between."
[Arlo]
Why, Craig. I had no idea you were an arugula-eating, latte-sippin' elitist!
Hehe.
Having never been to 'Bama, I can't really say. The central (and north-central)
areas of PA are beautiful, and the people kind and generous despite the bad
times that have hit the area. I actually hope to hit northern-Alabama sometime
yet this summer, have a riding buddy in Oak Ridge, TN who I am riding down to
visit (WV is a great motorcycle state!), am hoping to loop around parts of the
country I've never been (seeking cajun food, mudbugs, blackened voodoo ale,
music and conversation).
I will profess, however, a great love for Pennsylvania, and a vocal drive to
support her industries, products, lands and people. The German "Heimat", from
where we get "homeland", is much better translated "Heartland", which is what
north-central PA really is for me.
