Jeez, conflicting aphorisms, whatever next ? ... Wilde is a great source.

Freedom is one thing and compulsion is another ... there is no "either
/ or' choice ... it's an appropriate amount of both.

Any responsible person exercising their freedom recognizes limits to
that freedom, with only a little "compulsion" involved. You are always
free to resist even that compulsion ... and take responsibility for
the consequences. etc ... etc ...

Take off those polarizing ray-bans.
