Ron,
When I go, as you do too from what I've gathered from you in the past, thus, when I go in the woods I'm left with myself and this world. I find I'm the woods, the trees are the woods, the deer are the woods, my family, but what is this woods. It is this geographical living where dreams have a place to live where songs find legs to dance, and faced with these woods, especially in more detailed depth - this quietness in the woods, birds make their way into my mind, from inside of me the wind passes through and the sounds find a home in me. When I talk and think this happens in the woods. It is simple location of where events occur. Since we, as humans always think, and while in the woods with no books guiding my way, and when the stories bring me only so far, I'm left with my thoughts and how comfortable and with peace of mind do I find the condition of my spirit, what may arise from the deep depths of unconsciousness or render from nightmares
and dreams. What am I left with as the conditions are dynamic and new with each step, each climb over the next hill with the changes in the weather, the season, or what lingering thought from the chat last night, the fish caught that morning, the unexpected slip, or when those moments in the quiet woods leave no footing for the mind, no particular guiding notion to stand upon, and everything comes together in this quiet moment filling this space with a charged emergence from all this new experience in which the mind has nothing to fall back on whether in memory or reason, then at that moment you've been given a view. This view is of what you make sense of all of this, with your thoughts, and your understandings. Not thoughts and understandings, maybe you match these thoughts up with a good book you read, a good conversation you had, or some instance in your life that was as wise and knowledgeable as the one your enjoying at this very moment. You
might match these thoughts and views together and notice similarities, but of what is happening in your life? Of what is going on with your life in the whole scheme of events that no book could fully match, no conversation could fully match, unless you wrote a biography that covers every moment in your life. The pivots, the turns, those moments that lead you here and there, as they all seem to come together in a way that matches some deeply ladened dream of yours, deep desire, deep motivation, and these dreams, desires, and motivations are those deep values, the values that not only paint our pictures but incline our paths as to the why's we do this kind of work, style our houses in this fashion, or the kinds of messages we feel are important to provide. In the quiet woods, your left with yourself, your left with what you can do, and your left with realizing your place in this world.
Thanks Ron. Good post! I would say from the looks of it I was inspired.
woods,
SA
