Platt's endless loop and fondness for "Poof" are amusing enough but here is
a bit of classic Ham, "Even Darwin acknowledged that not all members of a
species evolve at the same rate."

Well this opens up a whole new can of sardines. My first question would be,
does this apply to humans? Or were humans unique in the animal kingdom for
being the only species where all members evolve at the same rate?

My point would be that in terms of biological evolution individual members
of a species do not "evolve" at all. They change, they grow, they live, they
die but they do not "evolve" biologically. Each biological iteration is
unique. A "species" consists of all the critters that have a particular set
of traits. Species change over time as the distribution of those traits
change within a population over time.

But let's be real. We will never get anywhere near these questions. Hell I
still have no answer to "how consciousness evolves" (correct that, I have an
answer, but none from these two charlatans). No, that would be philosophical
thought. That would be honest inquiry. And we can't have that  in a
philosophy forum, can we? We might anger Qualigod.

Well, right. Why attempt to understand the vast amount of work and thought
that has gone into attempting to shake up and disprove the theory for more
than a hundred year? It is much more fun and entertaining to make up your
own theory and to talk about it in your own private language. It is hard to
convince others; but that lets you write them off because _they_ just don't
understand. Personally I am will to admit that I real don't understand the
unintelligible.
