If I sound at all like that I am being radically misunderstood. In fact what
I am saying is exactly the opposite of that. In his more manic moments dmb
has rattled on accusing me of embracing "the myth of the given". I have
attempted to show that this is not so. But I do think that what dmb and
several others suffer from is attachment to "the myth of control".
