Hi Platt,
Here's another quote by Albert Einstein:
"If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific
needs, it would be Buddhism."
These quotes all came from an interesting essay on a website. Here
is the intro and url:
"The idea for the following little essay actually arose during a
retreat at Lawudo, in the Solu Khumbu area close to Mount Everest in
Nepal, while trying to do a retreat on emptiness. Obviously no great
realization came, but in order to try and penetrate the philosophy, I
imagined trying to teach it to others. Two major ideas popped up:
modern Western science and Mount Everest. If I could prove that
science points in the same direction as Buddhist philosophy, and if
Mount Everest can be "reduced" to the idea of emptiness, then the
argument must be convincing."

There are so many ideas within the MOQ that align with
Buddhism. Patterns of value are obviously empty of inherent
existence, and so some of these Buddhists explanations have been an
aid to my understanding of the MOQ. And some of the MOQ explanations
have been an aid to my understanding of Buddhism. Maybe this essay
will be helpful to some of you. I thought it was tremendous.
