Arlo:
The problem is that Platt claims (and to be fair, Pirsig suggests) that
nothing responds to DQ except for "man". Once again, I would then ask, if so
then "what" did respond to DQ before man? Give me an example of anything,
anything at all, that "responded to DQ" before man appears on the stage.
Andre;
Hi Arlo,I would like to know where that 'suggestion' of Pirsig comes from.
Is there a specific page number in either ZMM or Lila?
Pirsig argues that 'the decisions that directed the progress of
evolution are, in fact, Dynamic Quality itself' (Lila,p147). On page
150 says ' The chemistry of life is the chemistry of carbon...the invention
of Dynamic carbon bonding...etc, etc'
Need Pirsig say more?
It is a process that started well before 'Man' evolved.Of course w'hen it
did exactly 'start' is a meaningless question. Quality doesn't start (or
finish) anywhere....the Tao that can be told.... .
