[Platt]
But there is a part of self that exists apart from everything else...

[Arlo]
Where?

[Platt]
Some like me argue that you also have a soul -- that which responds
to DQ and to beauty -- what I call a light or spirit within.

[Arlo]
Are you born with a soul? If yes, where did it exist before it
inhabited your body? If no, how does it come into being? Does the
"soul" magically "poof" into existence when the sperm enters the egg?
(If the soul exists before the baby, does that mean that all souls
that have ever existed or will exist all had existed at the start of
creation? How were they created? What did they do in the billions of
years before the human being appeared on the stage?)

Let's go further (not that I have not given you ample questions to
try to ignore). Does the soul "evolve"? Or is the soul you were born
with exactly the same, unchanged, as the soul you have now? If it has
evolved, or grown, what is the process/mechanism/manner/means/etc by
how that soul grows? Is it's growth connected to the growth of the
biological body? How? Is it like an organ that develops through the
same processes as the body's other organs?

Not that I expect any answers, as usual.
