Therefore, why should I have to explain it to Arlo, of all people, who doesn't
accept a primary source, proprietary consciousness, or Value as man's
realization of a transcendent Reality?
[Arlo]
Yeah, why should your metaphysics explain anything? Much better to bury your
head in the sand when bothersome questions arise.
Again, here you use "proprietary consciousness". Its part of YOUR metaphysics.
So I ask, was there ever a time when "proprietary consciousness" did not exist?
If so, WHAT CHANGED in between "did not exist" and "did exist"? How did it
come into being? You've discounted (repeatedly) genetics and social processes.
What does that leave? Did one primate wake up one day suddenly bestowed with
the Great Gift of "Proprietary Consciousness" given by a "Primary Source" who
needed to be loved? Really? If that's your idea of a "metaphysics", no need to
explain further to anyone.
And now I'll give you another opportunity to answer this one. Has "proprietary
consciousness" evolved over historic time? Yes or no. Does "proprietary
consciousness" evolve over the lifespan of the human organism from neonate to
senior citizen? Or is "proprietary consciousness" an unchanging, unevolving
thing?
"Man's transcendent reality"? You mean his soul. Why the hell don't you just
say it? You got your needy "God" poofing consciousness into the cosmos,
updating it for successive generations, and now this consciousness is not part
of the natural world, it is "transcendent".
Here's a follow up on that for you. Is this "transcendent reality" connected to
man's body? How? Does it float nearby? Does my "transcendent reality" precede
my conception? If no, then how does a "transcendent reality" suddenly appear
when a man's sperm boinks into a female's egg? Is it because of something in
the DNA? Or does "God" just know to poof it into us because we are his children
sent to adore him? I know, I know... don't ask, just believe.
Metaphysics... please.
