Hi Steve

I don't know. Are apes social on a sliding scale that can evolve to what is 
human?
Are tool making, agriculture, story telling, art of war, language, the arts, 
social patterns that evolve
on a sliding scale to what we might call intellectual?

Maybe we need to see certain social patterns as ones essential to the 
emergence
of the 4th level whilst other social patterns are more to do with 
maintaining the 3rd?
