once again you see. Students in school study not to learn, but to pass
exams.

There is something you are taught in flight school called situation
awareness.
Where you are, how high, how far from the nearest airport, how much fuel
you have left and so on. So at any time an emergency arises, you can
cope. 

Back to our citizens. When you are oblivious to where you are physically,
I mean not being able to point to a world  map and say I am here, it's
only downhill from there.
