Which "ass kisser" did you support last election? If you vote, you 
are part of the problem...

In this last election, like Pirsig, I saw that "God help us if [Bush] 
is elected", and so I cast a vote against Bush rather than for 
anyone. Sad, but that's the reality. Some buffoons are comical, some 
are embarrassing, but others can be dangerous. Kerrry was about the 
most uninspiring alternative I could imagine.

I've given up in my lifetime of ever partaking in an election where I 
am honored to support a candidate. But this is not going to go away, 
the process as I've described is so entrenched that short of 
revolution I don't know what will change it. And, like I said, we get 
what we deserve. The process, the candidates, the dialogue, are not 
thrust upon the American people, they are built BY the American 
people. And do you really think a country that lofts a Bush and a 
Kerry as our two greatest choices is going to offer anything Good anytime soon?

We may as well forgo the entire illusion, and replace the election 
with a reality television show called "The Next American President". 
And you know what? I'd wager you get better voter turnout! Or since 
we appear to be on the verge of another Clinton presidency, why even 
pretend we are not an aritstocracy in this country, why not anoint 
the House of Bush and the House of Clinton as Lords, as let them duke 
it out for the Kingship? After all, you know Jeb is going to the 
go-to guy for the republicans in 2012.

As for not-voting, since 1972 only about one-half the population of 
eligible voters actually vote in presidential elections. Half. The 
biggest turn out since 1968 was this last election, when a whopping 
56% of eligible voters cast a ballot. What would have to be floor 
before the system collapsed? 40%? 20? If it can keep chugging along 
with only half of the people participating, it ain't going away any time soon.
