Exactly. Fixing a motorcycle and fixing a nation aren't so different. In both cases you gotta care, get engaged and work to understand what's wrong. To withdraw out of cynicism, apathy or laziness is very much a part of what's wrong. Such an attitude damages democracy and invites tyranny. Its the opposite of virtuous behavior.

If the whole thing is rigged, that's just all the more reason to do something about it. 

Wake up and smell the fascism!
