Steve:
I guess my question is really, what are we supposed to do with other
people's dogmatic viewpoints. While beliefs of any other type are
subject to criticism, in the name of "tolerance" it is often said
that we can't criticize people's religious beliefs.
.
Ron:
We may question and criticize all we like, personally I have never
Been successful with changing someone else's viewpoint about faith
And religion. I became well read in Christian doctrine just for the
Reason of appealing to them from their own viewpoint. Soon as you start
Parting ways in theory you lose them, you forget that the reason
That they adhere so stringently to faith is because they do not wish
To think. Faith is easy, thinking requires effort.
Unfortunately Steve, people have to want to see things differently.
If you have ever seen the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, a point of
View gun would be the ticket to the problem.
