Ron's dad was trying to explain to him the difference between the letter
of Religion and the Spirit of Religion.

See, it's like calculus. Many people can do simple math, but few can
understand derivatives. 
Religion line-by-line, is a given basic. Then there are those who can
depart the text and see the Truth.

See, you say 5+5=10, I say 8+2=10, he says 300-290=10. The irony is none
of us see that it's the "10" we are aiming for.
