Hi Ron,

Ron:
> If evidence is the only qualifier between faith and reason whos to say
> Whos interpretation trumps if the data is the same but the explanation
> Varies?

Steve:
People will only have different interpretations of evidence. That's
not the problem. The problem is when someone opts out of the dialogue
about how best to interpret evidence by saying, I just have faith
that what I am saying is true.

Ron:
> I think there is a difference between blind faith and faith, faith
> being
> The trust in a belief.

Steve:
I've been having a hard time getting across what sort of use of the
word faith I'm criticizing. I'm criticizing the sort of faith that is
used to state that a claim is beyond rational criticism.

I'm not talking about faith as in trust in a belief. The role of
uncertainty is relevant. Faith is never about probabilities. If you
can attach a probability to say how sure you are, you don't mean the
sort of faith I'm talking about.

Regards,
Steve
