Hello steve,

Steve:
I've been having a hard time getting across what sort of use of the
word faith I'm criticizing. I'm criticizing the sort of faith that is
used to state that a claim is beyond rational criticism.

I'm not talking about faith as in trust in a belief. The role of
uncertainty is relevant. Faith is never about probabilities. If you
can attach a probability to say how sure you are, you don't mean the
sort of faith I'm talking about.

Ron:
OOOOOOOhh, ....never mind, (in my best Rosanne Rossanna-danna
impersonation)

Your talking about someone engaging in a rational debate and copping out
Of a relevant reasonable line of inquiry, The devil made me do it kinda
shit. No responsibility what-so-ever.
Yes chalking up holes in their argument to faith is a bullshit cop out.
A brilliant political tactical move, but bullshit just the same.

Using it as a lever of convenience in a rational discussion is garbage.
I agree.

That was easy, but hey! we explored the meaning of faith in great depth!
