[MD] brain test

Hi all,
I was shown this test by a Bate's Method teacher except she said to make the
hole as a small triangle by holding both hands up at arms length in front of
you, palms facing away, fingers overlapping and the thumbs cross to make the
base of the triangle; this way the hole is directly in front of you. You can
then play with switching the eye that is dominant.
Another useful Bate's exercise is to hold both index fingers up in front of
you. One is at arms length and the other is held up midway between the face
and the farther finger. Have both eyes open. While you focus on the farther
finger see two images of the nearer finger either side of the farther
finger. Now switch focus to the nearer finger and see two images of the
farther finger either side of the nearer.
Practice switching the focus back and forth and strive to make symmetrical
the images of the three fingers you see.
The best Bate's exercise though is Palming: cup both hands and place them
over the eye sockets. Do not let the palms touch the eyes or lashes. Have
the eyes open and exclude all light from between the fingers. See black.
Relax the shoulders and stare into the black until your tired eyes feel
better.
An excellent book about the Bate's method is Aldous Huxley's 'The Art of
Seeing'.
Regards
-Peter
