Yes, individuals do what they do in a medium that is common and public,
and yes individuals make a 'many' as you say not a 'one', individuals are
all different to some extent yet with various parts variously in common.
So that each individual is a unique source and resource in terms
of what they have become and even more importantly
in terms of what real possibilities they possess.
As Roy Bhaskar the philosopher of science has written:
"the possible is real and more important to science than the actual"
>From Science to Emancipation (Sage 2002).
