SA, and y'all:

Yea, I think "pre-reflective" and "pre-intellectual" refer to the same category of experience. This is also what James calls "pure" experience, although we ought not take that designation too literally. Otherwise, intellect and reflective thought will be construed as something dirty or less than real.

But "participance" isn't a real word. I suppose you're talking about involvement or engagement and that maybe "participation" is the word you're looking for. Or does that word fall short somehow and you need "participance" to address that shortcoming?
