Hi Joe

I'd suggest that science is the study of order, it needs to be seen
in the context of a world that is also contingent and historical and
has biological and human agency in it as part of that order.

But to study and describe order science needs assumptions and
concepts and language to do this empirical work, that's what we
usually mean by metaphysics. That reality always exceeds science is
simply reality, you seem to be calling it a metaphysical reality, I don't
see the need. Why not call it reality, which is the idea of that which
transcends our human-experience-reality, and is a totality we cannot
experience as finite beings it seems.
