Jorge

usually one ideology dominant but of course
many are possible.

We need to do science in the contexts of our values, what
ends we are trying to realise, and to assess science, its
approach, goals, research projects, in the context of
what we want to achieve. This is unavoidable, the problem
is where science claims only to be interested only in the truth
and uses this as a cover to have shut down debate about
what science is to be done, what methods work best, etc.
We need more democracy in science and less elitism and
corporate monopoly.
