As I've said many times, I like Pirsig's explanation of the beginning of

It beats "oops" IMO. It also harmonizes with the rest of his metaphysics.

There is nothing in this account that 'explains' the beginning of life. It
is kind a poetic description that provides the illusion of an explanation. 

How does saying that the Dynamic force invents different kinds of molecules
differ from God saying, "Let there be Life"?
