SA continues:  I unintentionally came across this
other version of the shamisen by the Yoshido Brothers
awhile back while browsing the music store where you
can listen to CD's before you buy them here's a song
of theirs too.  They mix the old, ancient shamisen
(three-stringed Japanese instrument) with modern music
anywhere from jazz, India type, rock-n-roll (as the
first song below is), techno type, shamisen alone,
etc...  They do this very well.  If they came near the
area I live, I most definitely would try my best to
see them in concert.  (By the way, if you ever heard
the Wii commercial, the music is by the Yoshido
Brothers.)  Here's a song called "Rising":
