Mornin'!

Madness: When someone due to the composition of the SPOV reacts to Quality
in a way that on Intellectual, Social and extended onto Biological levels of
value, is deemed as having Low Quality.

----

So as to keep this discussion on track I will put it to you that my mission
here is not to question the extraordinary benefits that the continuing
examination of biological patterns of value [medicine] gives us, but rather
to point to the fact that in some cases a re-evaluation of the philosophy
this enterprise rests on may be in order.

As has been said before the case of mental illness is a difficult one,
both - I'll grant - because the brain is such a complex biological pattern,
but also because one keeps returning to the mind/matter paradox. How does
the mind and matter relate? Can an thought experience create changes in the
matter of the brain? How? And yet again; what is thoughts? What is their
nature? How do they relate to the electrical impulses activating different
areas in the brain? What is it really that we are examining? Is it dependant
of me and my interpretation or is it objectively? What is my subject? Me,
and object with my subjective view, how can I investigate subjects as
objects? Will what I say be true? To whom - in what way? In a subjective, or
objective way?

My point has really always been this: Today you have many [not all!]
diagnoses that are based on nothing (medically) other than observation of
behaviour , and there is a continuing mystery around how the experiences had
by someone can create changes in the matter of the brain (which one must
presume is the reason for all mental illness). Instead, a MOQ based
psychiatry would do exactly as good a job of finding abnormalities in the
biological patterns (even though abnormalities is something that only exists
as a concept on the intellectual and the social level) and going about that
whole business. But the mind/matter paradox would be gone, forever, and
mental illness would be explained something like:

When someone due to the composition of the SPOV reacts to Quality in a way
that on Intellectual, Social and extended onto Biological levels of value,
is deemed as having Low Quality.
