DM: I tend to think of the future as open, that there are terrible
possibilities,
so-so ones, and great one available to us to reach towards. We make our
choices and head off towards them, we make bad turns, and all the other
patterns from inorganic to animal make their choices, in so far as they can,
towards the possibilities best suiting them in so far as they experience
the possibilities that are available. Clearly, all this seeking is not
entirely
co-ordinated or so messed up that we only get chaos. But given how
dangerous the cosmos is,it is very close to such chaos. The climb up
to the human level of patterns and orders is a struggle of some achievement.
