Which is it? I thought you were anti-dichotomy.

I am seeking clarity. You brought into play Pirsig's quote saying 
that "to the extent that one follows Dynamic Quality", determinism is 
overcome. Since you've said repeatedly that "only man" responds to 
DQ, does this mean that all non-man parts of the cosmos follow 
deterministic laws? If not, where does Pirsig support the idea that 
something that "does not respond to DQ" (such, as you suggest, as 
your cat) can also be "free" of these deterministic laws? It would 
seem that according to Pirsig's quote, only that which can respond to 
DQ is "free" of adherence to deterministic law. So again I ask, is 
your cat "free" of these laws, or no?

And if you claim your cat is "free", but can not respond to Dynamic 
Quality, please give me a supporting passage from Pirsig that 
indicates that "freedom" from deterministic law comes from something 
other that "to the extent that one follows Dynamic Quality".
